General cabinet construction – what to look for

Often people walk into a kitchen and think “oh, what a nice kitchen” but you don’t know that yet, you need to really look at it! Kitchens can teach you a lot about whether the house is built well.  Look for gaps, odd cracks and spaces, crown moulding that doesn’t line up properly, open the doors and drawers, check if there’s a cleat holding up the cabinets or a nice solid backing.  Nice added features like furniture kicks, decorative posts, decorative brackets, bar backing and fancy crown moulding all add to the beauty of a kitchen, but do not speak to it’s quality. The kitchen cabinets can teach you a lot about the builder, so learn how to tell if your kitchen is built well… just so you know what you are actually paying for!

You would think that since Well Built Home had been called in to take a look it would be an exciting business opportunity; This is the first time Well-Built Home has been called on site by a third party since our Launch 8 weeks ago!
